Western Cape Province Emblem, Logo, Seal, South Africa. Western Cape is located in south west of South Africa. The coat of arms of Western Cape was adopted in 1998. There are several images, the supporters are native animals quagga and bontebok proper, on the shield theres an image of an anchor which represents hope and the maritime history of the region. The shield adorns grapes which illustrates the regions renowned status as a wine making region. The motto "Spes Bona" translates "Good Hope". The coat of arms was designed by Mr Fred Brownell.
