Geographical and Tourist Map of Vietnam. As illustrated on the map Vietnam is the most eastern country in south east Asia. Surrounded by Cambodia, China and Laos with a combined estimated population of 86 million people Vietnam has been susceptable to invasion. Conflicts between North and South Vietnam came to blows starting the Vietnam war in which the North communist party successfully conquered South Vietnam. After years of bad dictatorship the government proposed the Doi Moi implementing free market reforms this historic shift in 1986 has marked Vietnam as one of the fastest growing economies in the world. Vietnam has a rich landscape with exotic waterfalls, rivers, beaches and mountains still a developing country and maintains its natural beauty. Vietnam gains most of its prosperity from agricultural trade and has not been industrialized adding to the paradise essence of the country. The development of transportational links has made Vietnam more accessable to neighbouring countries.
