Troodos has a thriving local market with souvenir shops, food and beverage stands and local produce. The mountains span across the western side of Cyprus and hold several World Heritage Sites which are collectively the nine Byzantine churches and the beautiful Kykkos monastery. The Kykkos monastery was built in the 11th century and is a stunning architectural construction, hand carved and painted it is honoured as the richest monastery in Cyprus.
