The Flag, Emblem, Logo and Seal of Macedonia - Greece. The Macedonian emblem is taken from the national Macedonian flag and illustrates the Vergina Sun with 16 rays. The blue field is often used to denote Macedonia and the municipalities of the region. The star was unearthed in 1977 and was discovered by Prof. Manolis Andronikos in the tombs of kings of the ancient city of Macedon.
