The Park Sofievka, was set up in 1796 by Stanislav Pototsky in honour of the his wife Sofia. This park  was presented as a gift for her in May, 1802. It was Sofia's  idea to create a park  in a romantic style using Roman and Greek mythological characters.

Uman has an estimated populace of 90,000 residents on a land surface area of 41 sq.km. Established in 1616 Uman is considered a holy city. Uman hosts market days selling fried bread and local produce. Uman is an emerging city with historical buildings and traditional culture, new reforms have benefited Uman with new developments in progress to modernize the towns.
