Prince Edward Island Emblem, Logo, Seal, Canada.The shield and motto were originally granted by King Edward VII in 1905 and the arms was adopted in 2002. The shield has within the lower half represents three oak trees which symbolize the three counties and a lion passant to show the ties with England. The supporters are a rare native animal to Prince Edward Island known as silver foxes. Industrial connotations are embedded in the design including potato farming and fishing.
