New Brunswick, Canada, Emblem, Logo, Seal. The coat of arms of New Brunswick was granted by Queen Victoria in 1868 and after several changes was reinstated in 1984. The Atlantic Salmon acts as the crest which adorns St Edwards crown. The shields design incorporates the lion of England and Brunswick, an image of a ship along the ocean denotes the maritime link to New Brunswick. The motto "Spem reduxit" translated "Hope was restored" refers to the refugees who fled after the American Revolution, New Brunswick acted as a refuge.
