Myra Rock-Cut Tombs, Ancient Lycian Town, Antalya Province, Turkey

These impressive rock structures cut from the rock face, houses tombs largely from the 4^th century BC.  The tombs form part of the complex of Myra, which was an ancient Lycian Town, dating back to the 1^st century BC.  One section of the tombs is situated above the impressive amphitheatre and literary history tells us that, these now relatively plain facades were once brightly coloured with vibrant tones.
