Cherkasy (Cherkassi) District (oblast or province) situated in central Ukraine. Occupies territory of 20900 sq.km. and populated by 1,4 million people (2006). Consists of 20 regions. In this district situates 31 towns and 824 villages. In Cherkasy oblast there are 19 towns and the population is more than 7000. The administration centre of the district is Cherkasy (Cherkassi) City. Other major cities are Zolotonosha, Smela, Yman.

The economy in Cherkasy (Cherkassi) District - oblast, is mainly industrial and agricultural with important participation from the contruction sector,  the real estate market; property for sale and for rent is an essential contributing sector.
