Manitoba, Canada, Emblem, Logo, Seal. The coat of arms of Manitoba was originally adopted in 1905 by King Edward VII and was altered in 1992 adding various features including a motto and a crest. There are many detailed designs which offer a great deal of symbolism, the shield also featured on the provincial flag denotes a bison, a native animal and the cross of St George to signify the relationship between United Kingdom and Canada. The motto is taken from the national anthem "Gloriosus et libre" which translates "glorious and free."
