Italian Republic Flag and the National Emblem, Badge, Coat of Arms. The national flag of Italy has a tricolour design which are all equal and vertically positioned. Adopted in 1948 the flag is green white and red. The first use of this tri colour was in 1797 after Napoleon came to Italy.
