India Gate – Probably amongst one of the most easily recognisable monuments in
Delhi , the gate commemorates fallen Indian soldiers from WW1 and the Afghan Wars. The gate was designed by British architect Edwin Lutyens and completed in 1921. Beneath the arch of the gate, an eternal flame has been burning brightly since the year 1971, in honour of the Unknown Soldier. Amar Jawan Jyoti (the flame of the immortal warrior).
