Hampshire County Emblem, Logo, Seal, UK. The Hampshire county council was granted a coat of arms for its 100 years of service in 1992. The national Hampshire red rose emblem is incorporated into the shield along with a crown which was adoped from the old county badge. The supporters; the lion represents Winchesters former status as the capital of England with two swords crossing to denote the relationship with the military. The stag represents the royal forest created by Willam The Conquerer, the collar sports an anchor to signify the counties relationship with maritime events. A Saxon crown and helmet is illustrated at the top of the shield to signify its military defence.
