Guateng Emblem, Logo, Seal - South Africa. The coat of arms of Guatang was adopted in 1995. The image is of a Nguni shield bound by cowhide thongs. The pick which is centralized on the shield represents the mining activities which has contributed largely to the Gauteng economy. The supporters illustrate the animals which inhabited Gauteng when the white settlers first came to Gauteng.
