The Flag and the Emblem (Badge) of the Russian Federation. The Russian flag is a tricolour of white blue and red horizontal equal strips. The flag became official in 1896. The flag was originally used as an ensign for ships. The Coat of arms of Russia was restored in 1992 after the collapse of the Soviet union the image depicts Saint George.
