The Flag and the Emblem (Badge) of France Republic. The flag colours represent the French Revolution and the ideals of liberty, equality and fraternity. The fleur- dis- lis appeared as the national emblem in the 12th century. All stripes are equal and the tricolour motif is identified as France all over the world. The blue and red have been the colours of Paris for a very long time, the white was adapted from the Bourbon dynasty.
