The Flag and the National Emblem (Badge) of Dominica. The flag was originally adopted in 1978. The flag is made from many symbolic elements which denote Domicas christian faith. The green stars represent the ten parishes. The parrot is the national bird of Dominica and an endangered species, the stripes form a cross to highlight once more the christian faith. The lines represent the Trinity. The colours are associated to elements of Dominica, the green ensign represents the landscape and natural environment.

The coats of arms of Dominca also depicts the rare and native Sisserou Parrots holding the shield which displays national landscape designs to emphasise the beauty and environment of Dominica. The motto is represented in a yellow ribbon and denotes "After God The Earth."
