Damlatas Cave , Alanya, Turkey

With an area of 200 square metres, this magnificent natural limestone cave structure was discovered quite by accident, during ground preparation and blasting for Alanya Harbour in 1948.  Inside the cave the humidity level is 90% and the atmosphere is considered to be very beneficial for asthma suffers.  A certain time is set aside each morning, exclusively for patients with a doctor’s note to visit the cave, without tourists and other visitors.  A popular attraction with tourists to Alanya, these caves are amongst one of the many places of interest Alanya has to offer.
