British Columbia Emblem, Logo, Seal, Canada. The original coat of arms of British Columbia was adopted in 1906 and modified in 1987. The crest represents Queen Victorias royal crest with the golden lion wearing the crown. The national flower Pacific Dogwood acts as a garland and the supporters represent the union between Vancouver Island and the mainland by integrating the two national animals. The shield itself features the Union Flag to denote its British relation and below theres a picture of a sun setting in the ocean which illustrates the geographical stance of British Columbia in the Pacific.
